What code replaced G8553?

The G8553 code was used to report the use of an eRX in CMS’s Escribe incentive program. The program is still in effect but the use of G8553 for reporting the services was last valid from June to December 30, 2013. There is no replacement code.

Does CPT code 11422 need a modifier?

If that were the case, then a different code would be needed to make it larger by adding the sum of the three lesions together. Having said that, one can’t add the sum of the lesions, but CPT 11422 IS allowed to be quantity billed. Then no modifier is necessary for the multiple services.
